Remembering Norma Hunt
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra mourns the loss its friend and supporter Norma Hunt. Norma passed away on June 5, 2023, at the age of 85. She is survived by her sons Clark and Daniel. Our thoughts are with them and their families.
Norma Hunt was a subscriber and patron of the DSO for over 35 years. Norma and her late husband Lamar contributed significantly to the future of the organization. Mr. Hunt served on the DSO Board of Governors from 1958-1964. Norma was known for her association with sports, specifically the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team owned and founded by her husband Lamar. The family also owns the Major League Soccer team FC Dallas. Norma was passionate about Dallas and supported countless organizations through her guidance, time, and support.
Upon the departure of former Music Director Jaap van Zweden, she remarked, “because of how far the DSO has come, we can attract the top talent to Dallas.” We are grateful for her years of support.
