Paula Holmes Fleming

Paula Holmes Fleming was born in New York City, grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and began her tenure with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1979. She was an undergraduate student at the University of Miami, spent one year at the Vienna Academy of Music and earned her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the Dallas Symphony, she was Principal Bass of the Austin Symphony for two years and was also a member of the Louisville Orchestra. During her college years, she spent her summers at various festivals and music schools, including the Tanglewood Music Festival, the Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria, and Aspen Music Festival. She has three daughters.
