Yousef Assi
Joe Assi is third horn of the Dallas Symphony, and Principal Horn of the Breckenridge Music Festival. He has held the post of Principal Horn with the Sarasota Orchestra, the Palestine National Orchestra and Verbier Chamber Orchestra. He is an active chamber musician and soloist, having made appearances in Sarasota and Breckenridge performing Strauss’s first horn concerto and as a guest artist on the Verbier Festival’s chamber music series.
A sought-after guest performer, Mr. Assi has been guest Principal Horn with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, guest Associate Principal with the Dallas Symphony and has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony and many others. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the Curtis Institute, where he studied with Jerome Ashby and Jennifer Montone and worked on a master’s degree in music at Juilliard with Julie Landsman.
Joe and his wife Rachel live in Dallas with their new son Owen and their jealous dog Schroeder.
